may hotels.com burn in hell
December 30, 2003
our flight from new york was delayed for 2 hours, aeromexico lost our luggage for 3 days, seth gets the flu....
mexico city -- xochimilco -- gondolas, beavers, corn, lots of cerveza, frida kahlo museum, diego riveira murals everywhere. teotihuacan - 258 steps, our asses are still feeling it. lots of good eating.
after a day in the city, we returned to our hostel to find seth outside, shoeless, with a parka and gloves on in 70 degree weather. needless to say, he got a flight back to new york the next day. samantha has not been able to speak for 5 days, and you know what torture that is for the rest of us!!!!
after an attack of prickly heat and the flu, george is still hangin' in there. rachel and eva have managed to remain relatively unscathed, save for the montezuma¥s revenge that has hit all of us as i write this.
after a 15 hour bus ride to puerto escondido and all our trauma, we decided to forego budget living and book a room in a 4-star resort. upon arrival, we learn that they have overbooked. fuck you - hotels.com. no one use them - EVER - they suck.
but we are now in a very nice senora¥s bungalow, getting charged an arm and a leg....trying to find a way to zipolite where we will hopefully meet marta, she of the dual identity. after trying in vain to rent a car, we have hired a car and chauffer to take us to the beach.
there are many surfer dudes and sun tatoos at what is supposedly the third best surfing beach in the world. samantha¥s tatoos are giving us all the street cred we need.
over and out.
george, sam, rachel, eva

Wow. I don't really know what to say. That sounds really rough. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy the next few days at the beach. Is Samantha talking yet? Happy New Year, and let's look forward to a happy, healthy 2004 without any hotels.com.
