Last night, sitting at a Vietnam Airlines to buy a ticket south to Danang instead of the cold and windy waters of Halong Bay, Sam and I felt a sense of excitement and energy. We were so psyched as we walked through the now familiar honking motos, walking people, and damp warmth to Cha Ca La Vong, the oldest restaurant in Hanoi, serving the amazingly tasty fish dish fried with fresh greens and oil only available on this special street.

We had a great conversation about the possibility of communicating the shared secular spirituality felt by so many "free thinkers" in our generation and beyond. As you can see from the hanoi slideshow (4 MB) and the moto ride from the Ho Chi Mihn museum to the 6th century pagodas, to the b52 lake, the day had been filled with so much reflection, history, and rain.
