The beauty of live "Ojala" by Silvio Rodriguez
January 13, 2007 |
When I was studying in Bolivia in 1998, my host family shared the music of Cuban singer/songer Silvio Rodriguez. In particular, this live version of "Ojala," which means something like "Hope" in English, made me realize the profound impact his voice has made throughout Latin America. I love the part where the crowd's voice rises and sings the rest of the song, an amazing concert moment that I hope to be a part of someday.
