Pollution PSA for the 1950s

My company had an email thread today about improving how much recycling we do within the company. After a few ideas, someone shot out this link. Still true after all these years.

Freedom of Rights Management - Article on the UK Guardian

Check out this interesting article by Wendy Grossman in the UK Guardian about artists like me asking iTunes (and others) to open up their DRM, especially for music licenses with Creative Commons licenses. I even got a quote, my first in a major publication, although no link to my site and the Premixed Album on iTunes.

"On an album like mine," says Mutchler, "legally, users are allowed to do certain things with the music that technically the DRM is not allowing them to do."

reflection and time in the escalante

escalante glenn reflects in the crevice
Originally uploaded by activefree.

I spent the last week with my parents, brother and sister, and my partner christie in the Escalante National Park in Utah.

Being in the stillness, the fresh air, and the lack of digital connectivity reminded me of the frantic pace that has become my modern urban life. Even though I enjoy computers and the internet, it is important to presence myself in the long term of rocks and wind and flowing water. In particular, there was a natural ampitheater that we stayed in for two days that seemed to carry a wise spirit from before the Europeans came.

Check out the Flickr set of the photos from the trip to see some of moments and the views.
