Alicia the NY Times Reality Rock Star

19tren.large1.jpg

My long time friend Alicia Reinhardt (now Tennenbaum), who won the "Ms Spirit" award back in elementary school, has an amazing article in the NY Times, Bridging Gaps Between Hospital and Home, that shadows her intense day to day job at Beth Israel Hospital in NY.

My Google Map of Life in London

maps.png

After a conversation where Christie expressed some desire to visualize where these different parts of London were that I had told her stories about, I realized that maybe there was a way to do it in Google Maps. Two hours later, here it is. You can see it in regular map view, hybrid, or even better, check it out in Google Earth with the KML file.

Green Man comes as Burning Man grows

On this cloudy Sunday in London, I've been reading a subscribing to sources for green lifestyle, and have started to wonder if I should attend Burning Man this year. I've never been, and feel like this year is going to be the climax / tipping point into the mainstream of the culture. The theme is also "The Green Man." Check out this video that shares the plan for the pavilion in Google Earth.

Lessig moves onto Corruption

After 10 years of free culture advocacy, it looks like Lawrence Lessig has been inspired by Obama, Gore and others to move on. And his new direction is Corruption. My initial thoughts are that the connection is transparent systems.

Keep up the good work Larry, and I'm sure we'll keep moving forward and with you and independent from you.

You can watch his 30 minute announcement at the iCommons summit in Dubrovnic, Croatia at youtube or enVio.

Mutcluck's Adventures Begin

My bro has begun his adventure into the wilderness of both the West Coast and his own mind. I wish him the best of luck blogging and vlogging his adventures, and look forward to seeing more of the stories he tells, like this moment freezing his ass off in Sequoia National Park.

Photosynth and the Collective Image Memory

This TED Photosynth demo is cool. Thanks David for passing it along. The part about Notre Dame and Flickr shows us the amazing future. How the hyperlinks between the images we capture can give us collective memories of physical realities. If only we could headrush forward... Check out the Photosynth project as well.

Finally Moving toward a Healthy Cigarette

I've always enjoyed the culture of 'having a cigarette' with people, but never enjoyed smoking cigarettes (or getting lung cancer). The best part of the culture of smoking is quality time with people taking a break from the busyness of life to simply talk, take deep breaths, and exhale.

Now with this new cigarette that somehow gives the nicotine without the smoke, maybe we're on our way to breathing based healthy air, so we can also enjoy a smoke break with friends or coworkers, guilt free.
