I got an email last week saying that my piece "Everyday Choices" had been played the well known podcast, Adam Curry's Daily Source Code.
I took a listen and his intro and outro to the spoken word piece (surprised he didn't choose Teru's version which has more flow) are pretty cool. It seems like Adam's been going through a bit of a political awakening, having read Confessions of an Econonic Hitman recently, and he played my piece as part of wondering where are the politically relevant lyricists today. Where are our generations versions of Dylan, Springstein, or others.
To Adam, first of all thank you for highlighting my words and it gives me reason to keep writing and make the next album. Second, those voices are out there, but they are probably speaking in spanish from Latin America or influenced by Hip Hop and coming from South Africa or Ghana or Brooklyn. Our generation's cultural transformation is global, and I hope we can step it up in the coming year.

Mostly just testing out the Last.fm widget. This is a track that my new housemate Nikki loves. She's singing along to it now in our kitchen in East London.

"I'm only an hour from the Namibian border. Yesterday we were lost trekking through the rock formations of The Cedarberg, and today we're speeding toward the Kalahari."
My brother Adam is officially on an adventure through Africa. After about a month, he finally posted about his experience so far.
Now that I've officially set up to record my Skype conversation as podcasts, I'm planning to have Adam be my first guest in the next week or so.

As per my post back in 2005 "Long live the Globe Game," competitive geography is pretty much the most fun education every. Now TravelPod.com brings the Globe Game anywhere you want it. In this case, to the widget below.
In our international office in London, I was proud to have tied a Brit and actually beaten a Brazilian, which is not bad for an American. I made it level 10 and got a travel IQ of 113. Hope to improve next time. Enjoy.

From conversations back in 2002, and then resurfacing when discussing life visions while my brother Adam was visiting me in London on his way to Ruanda, I have the following vision for a digital bumper sticker.
Disclaimer: There are others (Killer Cotton, Tonkatronix, and MotionLed, which seems the most evolved with LED messages powered by the cigarette lighter.
The key breakthroughs that I would like to help make happen are the following:
1. solar powered to remove the need for charging and improve eco footprint
2. enable submissions of text and images via mobile device (bluetooth or equivalent)
I think the LED text is fine for promotions or expressing road rage, but for enabling people to communicate some of their personal values and identity, we need more graphical and font creativity. Also, connecting it to mobile devices like phones will enable more network effects and interesting uses we haven't even thought of yet.
Does anyone know someone who could help with this?
