OpenGreen - Draft Presentation
February 5, 2008
A draft presentation that seeks to demonstrate the value of open value chains for inspiring consumer behavior and demand toward a green culture and responsible economy. Definitely looking for feedback as I move this forward. Note: The audio for some reason became out of synch when uploaded to youtube, and will be corrected shortly.

planet earth is undergoing a major shift in transcendence! on that note, i love the effort and style of placing new ideas and intentions in this space- OpenGreen model is very cool. i feel strongly about spilling the real stories out into the world, and i think it starts with the unfortunate 'disconnection' we have not only to where our food comes from, but also other areas like clothing and material goods like you mention. it's a bare unawareness of the bigger picture- our connection to the earth, our connection to each other, and our connection to animals.
yes, it's easy to decide to use your dollars to buy something more "green" (and i'm fortunate to have that financial choice) but the message would also benefit to be about becoming more conscious and connected to the 'source' of our things and what that means for the sustainability of the planet, and also the gratitude for it. i think even basic changes of catching our thoughts and becoming more conscious will do so much on a inner level for a more green economy. our individual thoughts and actions are very contagious whether we realize it or not, and in turn supports the actions of money being a force of good on the planet. some would even say that these 'thoughts' and shifts to more states of awareness and gratitude would do more than what dollars can do for choosing "green goods" over usual products. i think it's fantastic that people are catching on to the importance and style of our "green" choices because it's incredibly important, but i hope we don't forget the bones behind it- really being connected to what you put in your body (bringing back the sacredness of the food, and some would say honoring the spirit of the animal) and not forgetting your connection to the people (or machines) who actually made the shirt you are wearing. everything has energy associated with it, and if we can balance our outer choices with our inner choices, i think we're making huge progress.
i really like the seeds of this project and the mission. i am a little unclear about bullet #2 regarding the mission (which leads to bullet #3). maybe because i'm not in the business technology world so to speak, i may not be grasping an understanding with the words choosen to explain (about data systems, etc). i'd love to grasp this point further. because i think bullet #2 and #3 are important to understand "how" bullet #1 would manifest.
nice job col. keep the world turning!
shine,
tina
