We have witnessed amazing accomplishments over the last 20 years, and emerging technology promises much in terms of genetical and biological innovation, as well as continued digital progress. The challenge is to design affordable, scalable products that will empower emerging economies and democracies as much as the global elite.
While I had heard of DARPA inventing the internet somewhat, this is a pretty good animation of how the actual evolution happened from computer to internal network to international standard that we now take for granted.

Interesting to see a video trailer for a book, makes sense especially for something like this. The next wave after Crowdsourcing in my view is Crowdfunding for the future.

I love this. In line with my father's prediction that pretty soon a large percentage of the population is going to start to reject all the craziness of digital and return to campfire storytelling.
From a British Telecom study (I assume for the UK population) via Mediasnackers' Real Life Has More Bandwidth:
"... the preferred method of communication is still face-to-face. In fact, this is even more popular [in 2008] with 68% of people preferring face-to-face contact compared with 51% ten years ago."

Check this from the ever inspiring source for new biz ideas Springwise: "dance energy has popped up again in the form of an eco nightclub that's slated to open next week in London."
That's hot. I'm definitely gonna have to free the white booty that night.

Check this quote from Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who shares my view that social, participatory advertising models will emerge soon (hopefully activefreemedia will be one).
It is obvious that people spend a lot of time in
social networks. I believe there will be some new advertising products, that will work, but I don't think they are invented yet. We and others are working on social advertising products.
